These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the GreenChit mobile application and website (greenchit.com), operated by GreenChit ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using GreenChit, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use GreenChit.

1. About GreenChit

GreenChit is a housing society and apartment management platform that helps building admins and residents manage maintenance dues, expenses, notices, complaints, and financial reports.

2. User Accounts

  • Resident accounts are created by building admins. You cannot self-register as a resident.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Do not share your OTP or access credentials with anyone.
  • You must provide accurate information when requested.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Use of the Service

You agree to use GreenChit only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Use the app to post false, misleading, or defamatory content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or building data
  • Upload malicious files, viruses, or harmful content
  • Use the app in any way that violates applicable Indian laws or regulations
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app

4. Admin Responsibilities

Building admins who register buildings on GreenChit agree to:

  • Provide accurate building, flat, and resident information
  • Use the platform transparently and in the best interest of their residents
  • Not misuse financial data or expense records
  • Ensure residents are informed about how their data is used

5. Payments and Finances

GreenChit is a record-keeping and management platform. We do not process or hold any financial payments on behalf of buildings or residents. Any maintenance amounts shown are for tracking purposes only. Actual payment collection happens outside the app through the building's own processes.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and branding of GreenChit — including the name, logo, and app interface — are the intellectual property of GreenChit. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without our written permission.

7. Third-Party Services

GreenChit uses third-party services including:

  • MSG91 — for OTP-based login (SMS delivery)
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — for secure file and data storage

These services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GreenChit shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app
  • Loss of data due to technical failures beyond our reasonable control
  • Disputes between building admins and residents regarding maintenance or expenses
  • Interruptions to service due to maintenance, upgrades, or force majeure events

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

GreenChit is provided "as is" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure at all times.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to GreenChit at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service. You may request account deletion at any time via our Data Deletion page.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from the use of GreenChit shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
